Walking back home, Annita made the trip back by herself. While it would've been nice if the woman had chosen to come along with her, she most definitely had her own things she needed to be doing. Part of Annita wanted to continue talking to her in the hopes of getting to know more about this. But she understood that there would be a time in the future for stuff like that.
"I'm back!" Annita announced and pulled the front door open. Heading inside, she found Delia hard at work on some kind of salad. While not the kind of meal that the elderly lady was thinking of when she had gotten home, this would be more than sufficient to refill her strength.
"How was church?" Delia remarked, her gaze focused on Annita's headscarf. While this had not been her intention when she gave her imposter mother that book, this outcome was understandable.
"Quite good. I met a woman wearing a strange black dress." Annita answered and cracked a smile. Getting a nod in return, she sat herself down at the table. "Hopefully, I'll get to meet her often."
Delia nodded, returning to her salad making.
