Picking up the hat kit, Annita headed over to a chair. Every old lady she had seen in the past was usually sitting in some kind of chair to begin with.
Sitting down, she took the time to recline the chair back. While the last time she had tried to do this hadn't quite worked, this was successful. A win for elderly her.
"This looks pretty easy." Annita thought, attention turning to the hat kit. Needles and yarn in hand, she got to work. Or at least, tried too. Whether it was a lack of practice or her just massive fingers, the finesse required to actually get the hat kit started was eluding her.
"Everything alright in there?" Delia called out, her mother choosing to not answer. Instead, her focus returned to the hat kit. She was not going to let this little thing kick her butt. No, it would be the other way around. She was going to conquer this hat and make it hers, dang it.
Taking a deep breath, she got back to work. There had to be some kind of secret to how elderly ladies got so many of these done while their children were off in the wor-
"I got it." Annita whispered, pulling the needle up and over the post she had been working on. Repeating that for the next, she got the first line of sorts. Then another. And another.
In no time at all, the hat was starting to come together. While the headgear still had a long way to go, she was quite proud of her progress.
Stick with Annita or switch to Delia?
