Jon wondered just what he should do. He had made a wish which gave all guys penises and girls vaginas. Which was an interesting thing to wish for... except that he didn't leave in a way to reverse it.
He walked into the guys' locker room and ithout looking around too much, he made his way over to his locker. Pulling a folded piece of paper from his pocket, he double checked his combination and set to work on the lock.
Thoughts went through his head. How could he explain it to Karyn? And when he looked around, he saw Steve Farber, a member of the football team. With a penis, and wearing girls' underwear instead of panties.
Jon slipped off his own underwear. He should be having his period around now, but of course with a penis it was no longer possible for a guy to have a period. Well, that was certainly a way to save time. Jon put on his gym shorts--which didn't have pockets any more than his old ones--and tossed the stone back in his locker.
Then it occurred to him. He hadn't locked his locker! Good thing I didn't have my period now. I'd have been in a rush and I'd never have noticed that I didn't lock my locker.
He hesitated, and then grabbed the stone said "I wish I can remember this locker's combination when I want to." Then he tossed the stone back, locked the locker for real, and left.
During gym class Jon couldn't help looking at the other guys' feminine lack of curves below the waist. But of course that body shape was masculine now. He wondered just how far the change had gone when he saw a banner advertising a football game tomorrow against Mount Valley.
Why didn't the people in Lake Point act as though they were unique, since the stone couldn't affect anything as far away as Mount Valley? One possibility was that the stone just made them think the whole world was like that when it wasn't. If so, people outside the town would notice that everyone here had changed. Reality show producers would love it....
Except there was another problem. He had wished that guys would have penises and girls vaginas while changing as little else as possible. Clearly, changing people's body shape was not "as little else as possible".
As soon as gym class was over, he went to his locker and got the stone out. "I wish that I knew the details of my wish for new male and female anatomy."
He got his answer. One way to change as little as possible is not to change anything. He had just swapped minds with a version of Jon from a universe where guys always have had penises and women vaginas. That would mean there is no problem about the people outside the wish area--the whole world is like this. It would also explain the lower body change--since they only seemed "changed" because he had gone somewhere else, and weren't really changed, it didn't matter that the "change" changed more than he had asked for.
He held up his stone and said "I wish my cell phone can contact that of the Jon in the universe I swapped minds with, and vice versa. I wish this is magic and doesn't change reality."
Then he checked his cell phone. There was a new contact name listed, reading "Other Jon", and the number wasn't a number, it was a line of empty squares. Should he call?
