As the car pulled up, Stephanie opened the passenger door, jumping out almost before the car had stopped. If they hadn’t been worried about the house, they would have thought it funny how Stephanie was the one who had to take the front seat now, and had to push the seat back, since she had always been the one to volunteer for the back.
Shielding Mark with her arm, Stephanie was the first into the house, running in through the open door. Down the street, they could hear a lone police siren. Julie stopped and talked to the neighbors, as Stephanie “cleared” the house, clearly enjoying being the strong one.
After checking the house, Mark could verify that all of his and Julie’s shoes, clothes (including underwear, which was unsettling), and most of their accessories like hats, etc had been taken. The thieves didn’t even steal his laptop that was sitting right next to one of his good suits.
After talking to the police, they finally sat down at the kitchen table.
“Well, I’m glad that we didn’t lose everything, but i don’t know how we will replace those clothes! I mean, I have job interviews coming up. We are budgeted out through the end of the year unless I start making some money.” Mark said.
Julie offered “Look babe, it’s JUST clothes. It’s not a huge deal. We can probably find some items at goodwill and maybe you can borrow some?” Stopping to think, she realized. “ Oh, I guess we don’t really have anything to wear, do we? I mean it’s not like I can borrow Stephanie’s clothes, except for MAYBE a bathrobe, but outside of that, I can’t really fit into any of her clothes. And Mark, you don’t really have any friends that are the same size either.”
Stephanie’s eyes lit up. “Oh My god guys! I got it! I still have some credits with the IOC from a gig I did with them last year. You don’t fit my clothes NOW, but after a session with the IOC you could.”
Mark replied “ Oh no, that would be too weird - Julie I love you as you are and to get changed into Stephanie’s proportions? I mean, when you went on vacation a couple of years ago it was different - that was a celebrity but this is too real.”
“You seemed to enjoy it. A lot, I might add. Now’s a chance again, but for free! And that would solve our problem, for me at least!” Jule replied, getting excited.
“And Stephanie, you don’t exactly want someone wearing out your clothes when you are gone. I mean, that’s kind of weird isn’t it?” Mark replied, ignoring his minor fantasy of Julia with Stephanie’s measurements.
“Not at all! In fact I was going to have to pay to store them and now you’ll be doing me a favor! Plus I can probably get some new clothes when I get back anyway.”
Defeated, Mark gave up the argument with Julie:”Okay fine, besides it’s your choice anyway, but what about me? I mean, It’s not exactly like we have a bunch of guy’s clothes laying around here. Sure, you have like two whole wardrobes full of clothes for you, Julie but what about me?”
“About that. I have an idea.” Stephanie said.
