"So," I said, wanting to make sure everything was perfectly clear, "I'll make a wish to trade something with you, absolutely anything," I added for clarification. To be honest, the wishing stone was still making me kind of nervous and I found myself wondering, not for the first time, why Grandpa had chosen to leave it with me? I shook my head, now wasn't the time to worry about that. We'd make a wish, but we'd set a time limit. After the time limit expired everything would go back to the way it had been right before the wish, right. Nobody would remember a thing, aside from Karyn and me of course, and nobody would get hurt.

No harm, no foul. So, why did I have this eerie feeling that something bad was going to happen.

"Hello?" I looked up and saw Karyn sitting there with an impatient look in her eyes. I noticed the eyes second, still finding it hard to look away from the results of her earlier wish. "Please stop staring Jon." Her voice reeked of annoyance. No doubt she'd gotten those same stares all day at school, not because the breasts were new. Nobody would have realized that. They were simply staring because they were there. "They're breasts Jon, yes you're best friend Karyn has breasts, can we please move past that now and make a wish!" The irritation in her voice drifted more toward simple impatience as she finished her sentence.

"Sorry," I mumbled, looking back down at the stone, "I was just..." I really didn't want to tell her about my worries.

"Whatever Jon-Boy," Karyn said, flicking a long strand of straight blond hair that had been obscuring her eyesight.

I held the rock up, "What should we trade?" I repeated the earlier question. For everything that was going through my mind right now, I was finding it hard to lock onto a single thought amongst the bustle. Changing Karyn's physical appearance had been a major oops on our part, but that was far, far from the maximum amount of damage we could do with that stone, if we screwed up.

Finally, the impatience seemed to win out because before I could stop her, Karyn reached over and ripped the stone from my hand.

"Hey!" I shouted. "We need to be careful with that thing!"

"Hello," Karyn said, "In case you've forgotten, which I might add you demonstrated a moment ago that you haven't, I'm well aware of how careful we have to be. We should be having fun with this though. I mean, come on, we've learned from our earlier mistake, and we'll put a time limit on it," she said, echoing my thoughts from a moment ago. "We'll make sure that nothing goes wrong this time!"

I simply nodded. Karyn was my best friend, and I didn't want her to think I didn't trust her. It wasn't that at all. Honestly I wasn't sure how much I trusted anybody with that stone, myself included.

"Good," she said nodding sharply, "Now that that's settled, let's swap something." She held the stone and then looked at me, "Do you trust me Jon?"

I looked at her, it was as though she'd read my mind. "Yes," I told her, "I trust you."

"Good," she told me. "I have just the idea then." She closed her eyes and started to speak, "I wish..."
