"You know," said Claire, "Sylar didn't kill Claire. Everyone thought he was eating brains but it turned out he just had to cut people's heads open to look at them. And Claire could survive having her head cut open. Sylar didn't even want to kill her, he had this weird attitude towards her. like he respects her, not as a person, but for her power. Well, he did that once, anyway... he was nastier to her when they met again."
"Well you know how TV writing is," said Zoe. "It's not always that consistent. But it doesn't take having a Sylar to be dangerous."
"Why not?"
"Because Claire's blood heals people. The show's writers forgot about it, but it should. What if your blood is like that? It would be a very good reason to kidnap you. I don't think either of us wants you locked up in some lab because some criminal organization decides it can sell your blood. Anyway, have fun. I'm going to go help my power along."
Karyn and Claire seemed puzzled, but Zoe then explained. "I can only teleport where I've been. First of all I should take busses and trains to random places to expand my range. After that, I should teleport as far as I can go and start walking. Every time I walk to a new place it becomes a place I've been, so I can teleport there. See you..." She disappeared into nothingness.
"Whew," said Claire. "I thought she was never going to leave. I really don't feel like discussing the stone in front of her. Okay, here's my wish. I wish that I have one emergency wish that I can make happen whenever I want, without the stone just by thinking about it, but only on purpose."
"I thought you were going to..." said Karyn.
"I want to have fun!" replied Claire. "That's why I wished it, you know? I'm not going to just wish that all dangerous people have to stay a hundred miles away. I'm just going to go around normally, as if this is Heroes. I'm only going to use the wish if I really get in trouble and I have no other choice."
"I see."
"One thing. Karyn. Can you please tell me how my wish affected cheerleading? Tell me everything you know about me and cheerleading. And Sarah McMillan, too."
"I suppose. I don't see why wishing to have powers would affect cheerleading."
"I didn't just wish for powers, Karyn."
"But as far as I remember you've always been a cheerleader. You mean that was just created by a wish?"
"Basically, yes."
