In a flash, Jon was standing in his room again. Or he hoped it was his room. He was somewhere different then when he was turned off. Jon looked around, it his room alright, but everything looked different; further away, bigger even. It took Jon a second (in AI time anyway, that's less then a millisecond) to realize what had happened. He had shrunk! A quick glance at the ground beneath him showed the same holodisc that appeared under him during the swap had now was much larger, almost the size of a bus.
Looking around, Jon could see that he was now standing on his desk in his room, comparing himself to the crap he usually discarded on his desk; he looked like he was only 6 or so inches high. This explained the giant figure that was looking down on him. The figure leaned down and loomed over Jon, who made him clearly uncomfortable, but he couldn't exactly go very far, he was pretty much rooted to the spot, thanks to the holodisc he was attached to.
Jon found himself face to face with gigantic Karyn; her head alone was easily the side of a house to Jon, incredibly large. He could see every feature on Karyn's face in exquisite detail, even the fine strands of her new long hair that were falling down the sides of her face in bangs.
"Hey Jon-boy, ready for school?" she asked.
"School!", Jon replied, "It's only Saturday!", he shot back, not realizing until now how strange it was to hear a woman's voice come out of his mouth.
Karyn looked at Jon strangely, "Jon, it's Monday morning, you've been off all weekend", she replied.
"Uh, Karyn " Jon asked, "Do you notice anything peculiar about me at the moment?" he asked.
Karyn regarded Jon, for as long as she had known him, he'd always been a rather attractive female hologram, and Jon was so unique that at one point even Bungee software asked to use his likeness in the Halo games. Nothing seemed particularly out of the ordinary to her today, except that Jon seemed a bit more confused then he normally.
Jon was 18 years old, in the Halo universe he would have probably gone "rampant" by now, but that was simply fiction conceived of by a story writer to advance a plot, it didn't really happen to AIs, Jon was the proof. Although Jon seemed to be acting strange today; well stranger. She wondered if something else was wrong with him.
"Jon, you sure you're ok?" she asked, concerned, "You aren't acting like yourself"
Jon realized what was going on, as far as Karyn was concerned, Jon had always been a holographic AI, not a person. So did the rest of the world, which was just downright bizarre. Jon wasn't sure whether he should play along for a bit and see where this takes him or just reverse the swap right now and get back to normal.
