"I really want to be like you", Sarah said firmly, standing her ground.
Jon shrugged as best he could with canine limbs, "Ok then", he turned to Karyn, "You finished?"
Karyn nodded, scrunching up the rubbish in her hand and dropping it on the table, "This I've got to see anyway"
The two of them turned away for a moment to put their rubbish away before they left, after depositing their rubbish in the garbage they turned back and all that was left of Sarah was a pinkish blur moving away into a large crowd.
Karyn and Jon regarded each other before laughing their heads off, "She really tricked me good", Jon said between balls of laughter.
Karyn nodded in agreement, tears coming from her eyes, "Just wait until school on Monday when you see her again", she said.
"She might call in sick on Monday", Jon replied.
"Or for the rest of the year!", Karyn added.
Karyn and Jon got down from their chairs and started to walk off, Jon tripped on something still wrapped around his rear leg, he took a quick look at it.
"Boy, Sarah can run really fast when she's not wearing her trainers", Jon said, looking at the discarded sneakers and socks on the food court floor.
Karyn nodded with a smile, she picked the shoes and socks up and the two of them headed out of the food court.
On their way out, they saw Sarah hiding behind one of the walls near the doorway, without even bothering to say anything Jon just walked past Sarah calmly on all fours, Karyn following behind.
Sarah breathed a sigh of relief as they seemed to not have noticed her presence, just as they were about to round the corner and go down the street, they both turned back and looked straight at Sarah. She froze on the spot, her heart practically stopped in it's tracks.
Karyn chucked the shoes and socks to Sarah, "You forgot these", she said, before turning and walking away.
Jon and Karyn broke out in laughter again as Sarah sheepishly collected her shoes and put them on.
