Meanwhile, back at the Gibson house, both Karyn and "Jon" (really Sarah in Jon's body with no memory of being Sarah) were trying to figure out what had happened, as far as they know, Sarah and Jon suddenly switched places when Jon tried to use his new swapping power on her, Sarah seemed to be somewhat confused as to how she had appeared in the house, but Karyn had chased her out before anything could be clarified.
Unfortunately, Sarah and Karyn were having some troubles with the swapping power that Jon wished himself to have. Unbeknownst to the pair, the swapping power was given to the real Jon "“ the one currently inhabiting Sarah's body "“ not Sarah who was currently inhabiting Jon's body. Sarah had tried to swap many things after their little test with Sarah, but nothing worked. Even trying to swap something with Nikita, the Gibson household dog, had resulted in nothing.
"I don't get it Jon", Karyn said, "It was working when you tested it on Sarah, why isn't it working now?"
Sarah shrugged, "I don't know, I really don't. Nothing's changed, and it's not like I put a restriction on the wish or anything. It should still be working", he said.
Karyn looked around, "Well, where did you put the stone then, let's go find it and we'll make a wish to figure out what's wrong. I'm sure the stone can tell us"
Sarah nodded, "Good idea. The stone's in my room, I'll go get it and be right back"
Sarah headed upstairs, Karyn stayed behind for a moment, "Wait a minute, what am I doing?" she said, before chasing after Jon and following him upstairs.
Sarah and Karyn tore his room apart piece by piece; the rock was nowhere to be found. It didn't make any sense to Jon, he'd made a wish specifically so he could keep track of the stone wherever it went, but he couldn't find it, the wish didn't seem to be working either.
Karyn was getting a little worried too, "Jon, what if the stone's magic has worn off?", she said, gesturing to her chest, "I could be stuck with these for the rest of my life, and this stupid hair too"
"We'll find it Karyn, don't worry", Sarah replied, pulling everything out of his chest of drawers, where here remembered putting the rock last. He threw everything he had onto the floor, Jon picked up a rock that was sitting in his drawer where he expected the wishing stone to be, but he discarded it just the same. It couldn't be his wishing rock. Little did he realize that the perception wish the real Jon had made, also excluded Sarah in Jon's body, same goes for the swap power. Sarah didn't possess those powers, so even though she was in Jon's body, she lacked those abilities.
"God", Sarah said, "where is it?"
After nearly an hour of searching, Sarah and Karyn gave up looking for the rock and headed back downstairs, rather depressed. The reality was starting to sink in that the rock was gone forever.
Karyn was particularly upset, naturally, she kept looking down at her chest and twirling her long straight hair in her hands, sighing aloud.
"It's not all that bad, Karyn", Sarah suggested, "I mean, you can always just cut and dye your hair again"
Karyn frowned at Sarah, "It's not the same Jon, I was a natural redhead, and do you know how rare that is these days? Now I'm just another blonde, run of the mill, boring as hell", she threw the bang of hair she was holding away in frustration, achieving little since it was still attached to her head, and swung back in her face in rather short order. Karyn puffed it away in disgust.
"I guess I'm going to need to get some larger bras after all", she added, looking down at her chest. Karyn stopped looking down at herself and started scowling at Sarah.
Sarah returned Karyn's look, confused and mildly concerned at her expression, finally the awkwardness of the moment broke, "What?" he asked.
"It's all your fault you know", Karyn said.
"What is?" Sarah replied.
"This, Jon", Karyn pointed to herself for emphasis, "All this is your fault!"
Sarah was indignant, "How is it my fault?"
"It was your rock!" Karyn shot back
"I told you it was magic! I told you to be careful and you just went ahead and made a stupid wish anyway", Sarah replied.
"Are you calling me stupid?"
"You're the one who made a wish for breasts and hair you didn't want!"
Karyn stopped talking, but still glared at Sarah. They were silent for quite some time, and then Karyn had a flash of inspiration, "Hang on a second"
"What?" Sarah asked.
"The wishes stopped working after Sarah was in your house", Karyn said, "We don't know what she was doing here, do we?" Jon nodded, "What if she took the rock?"
Sarah stood up, startled, "Oh my god, you're right!" he said, "We don't even know how she got in the house; she could have gotten the rock the whole time. She was outside the house just before your swapping power stopped"
"We've got to find her", Karyn agreed, standing up with Sarah, "Where did she head to?"
Sarah scratched her head, "Well, I think the best place to start would be her house. She was in her jogging clothes and regardless of whether she has the rock or not, she'd still probably head home before doing anything else"
"Ok", Karyn said, her hope at removing her foolish wishes side effects had returned, "Let's go"
Sarah and Karyn left the living room and headed out the front door, Sarah pulled the front door of the Gibson house shut behind him and locked it. Depositing the keys in his pocket, he joined Karyn who was already at the kerb.
"Where does she live?" Sarah asked Karyn.
"This way I think", Karyn replied. The two of them headed down the street with haste, trying to catch up with the person they thought was Sarah McMillan.
