Emily and Zoe slept for the rest of the afternoon until early evening when Linda Gibson came upstairs and banged on Zoe's bedroom door.
"Dinner's in 10 minutes girls!" Linda called out before going back downstairs.
Zoe had kept her relationship with Emily secret from her family, but she suspected that most of them knew about her already, the difficulty in having sex with a girl in a house of this size was that on occasion, there'd be a particular bump in the night or a noise that would sound rather out of place to the rest of the house, EXCEPT during sex. However, Zoe and Emily downplayed their relationship as much as possible.
Emily awoke with a start, she looked around and remembered where she was, still sleeping beside her, Zoe was lying wither arms splayed open; the back of one of them was covering Emily's head. Emily gently pushed Zoe's arm off herself and sat up in the bed, looking around for her clothes. Normally Emily kept a spare set of clothes in her cupboard for after-sex changes, but the problem here was that Linda had seen her come in a particular set, so changing now would look much more suspicious.
Emily climbed over Zoe and rolled off the bed, she went around the room and picked up the clothing she'd abandoned earlier. Luckily most of it was in a pile on the floor still. Emily quickly got dressed, but not before borrowing one of Zoe's sanitary pads to clean up the mess from their fun. Once Emily was fully dressed, she walked back over to Zoe's bed and leaned over, kissing Zoe on the cheek.
"Time to get up Z', Emily whispered in her ear.
"No, it's too early for croquet, you and the admiral go play hopscotch while I train this engineer in proper Latin burial rituals", Zoe replied.
Emily stifled a giggle, I'd love to live in her world for five minutes, she thought to herself.
Emily grabbed Zoe by the shoulder and shook her gently but constantly, enough to get her up.
"Ly, do you have any idea what time it is?" Zoe said, grumbling.
"Yea, dinner time. Get up you bum", Emily replied, throwing Zoe her top.
Zoe sat up in the bed and rubbed her eyes; she looked around the room and then hopped off the bed, getting dressed as quickly as Emily had.
Together, the two of them headed downstairs to the waiting dining table. Linda had already served out dinner, Gareth, Zoe's father, was sitting at the head of the table as was customary at the Gibson household, and next to him Linda had just sat down and Mikey had already dug into the food before Emily and Zoe had even arrived.
Emily and Zoe sat down at the table quietly and started to eat. Time passed rather quickly at the dinner table, the Gibson's shared a casual conversation or two with Emily, everything from the weather to Emily's visit at Jon and Karyn's place earlier that day. Emily of course didn't tell them anything about what Jon and Karyn did or what she now possessed, they wouldn't believe her anyway. By the time they were finished dinner; Gareth had already left the table and was in the lounge room watching TV with Mikey, Linda had started to clean up the dinner table and told Emily and Zoe they could leave, she'd take care of the mess.
Emily and Zoe went back up into Zoe's bedroom and closed the door. They sat down cross legged in the middle of Zoe's room, facing each other.
"So, about earlier", Zoe asked, "You said you had something to show me?"
"Yea", Emily replied, chuckling, "You're gonna love it"
"Oh, really?" Zoe said sceptically, "Something my brother gave you?"
"Yup"
"What was it?"
"I'll show you", Emily said.
Emily pointed her ring finger at Zoe and spoke, "Give me those eyes"
Zoe looked in amazement at Emily, one second her eyes were their usual radiant green with a peculiar twinkle in them, and next they were a stern dark brown.
"Oh my god!" Zoe said, "What did you do?", looking closely at Zoe.
Emily chuckled, "I swapped our eyes", she replied.
Zoe got up from her floor and walked over to her dresser, sure enough, Emily's bright green eyes started back at Zoe from her own face. This is impossible, Zoe thought to herself.
Emily had stood up too, admiring her reflection in the mirror, but she didn't think Zoe's eyes suited her as well as they did Zoe. Emily walked back over to Zoe's desk, waiting for Zoe to say something; she idly picked up Zoe's glasses and put them on.
"Whoa!" Emily said in surprised.
Zoe turned around and looked at her, "What?"
Emily pointed at the glasses on her face, "These really work!"
Zoe laughed, "Yea, they're not just to look good you know", she said, before adding, "You know, those glasses look kinda cute on you"
Emily grinned, striking a mock pose, "Look at me, I'm Zoe, I'm studying geek culture but it's really just to hide the fact that I have reading glasses"
Zoe stuck her tongue out at Emily, resulting in another giggle. Emily took the glasses off and set them back down on the desk, she walked back over to Zoe and wrapped her arms around Zoe's shoulders, the both of them looking at each other through the mirror's reflection.
"Can I have my eyes back now?" Zoe asked, "It's slightly creepy"
Emily laughed and said, "sure, you can have it back"
In an instant their eyes were back to their usual colour.
Zoe looked at Emily directly, "You know what we could do with this, don't you?" she asked.
Emily nodded in reply, she knew all right, Jon and Karyn had already shown her, "Yup, definitely"
"Cool"
