It hadn't.
The same sense of 'offness' had followed Steve to school. Walking into school he'd caught himself wagging his behind as if he were some girl trying to show off her ass. At lunch he'd caught himself walking into the girl's washroom without thinking. In gym class he'd squealed in fright when Biff had thrown the dodge-ball his way. Was he going losing his mind?
After school he decided to take the long way home, stopping at the mall for an Orange Julius. As he wandered past store after store he found himself pausing, admiring some of the brighter fashions, especially the pink ones. Having never been a fan of the girlie colour before he wondered where this new found admiration was coming from. In fact, it wasn't that he liked it, he began to realize that he loved it.
Not that he'd ever wear it, of course, he didn't want to get his ass kicked. The other guys on his team would never stand it.
Thinking of his football team brought back the dread he felt for the game he'd have to play in that night. With a sigh, knowing that there was no avoiding it, he sashayed his way though the mall, aiming for the exit nearest his home. He might as well enjoy some downtime before he had to play.
