The walk home had been great for Jon. If he had been asked a week earlier, Athena DeVries would have been the last girl he would have expected to have carrying his books home with him. Now, however, she hung on his every word, giggled at every joke, agreed with his every opinion. She never talked about herself, but asked lots of questions about him.
Having been the one who changed her dreams, Jon knew what she was up to. He let slip a detail here and there, wondering how far he could go. Pretty far, it turned out. He let slip a schoolgirl fantasy he'd always had, one that involved him being the teacher, and she didn't bat an eye. He mentioned how much he liked girls who dreamed of being the perfect housewife. He even brought up how much he enjoyed breast implants.
Every little thing he mentioned she took in, never offended, always excited to hear what he thought. He'd never seen someone so eager to please. She often interjected with comments about how good looking he was, how smart he was, how commanding he was. That last one made Jon smile.
When they got to his house, he took his books from her (which seemed to disappoint her until he told her what a good job she'd done carrying them), and sent her wiggling home. After his huge success with Athena, Jon spent the night fantasizing about what he was going to do with his next victim.
