Jon couldn't help but notice Karen's change of appearance when she walked through to her locker. Either could the rest of the guys.
Naturally, Jon gave her a hard time.
"Shut up, Jon-boy. It's kind of nice to be dressed up once in a while. I doubt you could understand." Karen opened up her locker and tacked up a new decoration. "It's like all you ever wear are dirty t-shirts." She glanced into the fresh glass of the mini-mirror and fluffed up her hair, then shut the door and walked away quickly, her two-inch heels clacking against the floor loudly.

Who was Jon to make fun of her like that?
He should be supporting her for trying out a new fashion, not ripping on it. At least she knew that she had the support of Steve Farber, who walked right into an open locker door when she turned to go into 3rd period.

What was Karen's deal?
She met him at her locker, like they did everyday, except this time was a little different. Jon had to admit, Karen looked good with her change of wardrobe, but like any good friend would, he needed to give her a couple gentle verbal jabs to let her know he noticed. He remembered what she had said when he wore the Ralph Lauren polo he got for his birthday, and this was mild in comparison!
And then she stormed off.
Jon had to figure out what was wrong with her.
