The ladies made quick time over to the cafeteria. Heading over to the front, they were met with a line of seniors also waiting for their breakfast.
"Drats. Just our luck." Elizabeth announced and got a look from Carla. Was it always like this? Her date made it sound like it was, but they had probably just gotten here at a bad time. Something a little waiting in line could easily fix.
"Any suggestions on what I should have?" Carla inquired and watched Elizabeth look about for a menu. When her gaze didn't find one, it was back over to the elderly lady.
"The oatmeal is always good. How about you have that?" Elizabeth answered and was met with a nod from Carla as they stepped forward. The counter very much in view, the 'couple' didn't need to wait particularly long for their turn. Stepping up, they were met with a far younger woman. "We'll take two oatmeal."
The woman manning the counter nodded and wasted little time in putting their breakfast into two bowls. Handing them over to Elizabeth and Carla, the couple made short time over to an empty table. Taking a seat, they dug right in.
