"Yes, sis." Carol answered and got a look from Caroline. Carefully, she pulled the book out from her arm and set it down into her lap. "I grabbed this on the way out.
Caroline took a deep breath. As hopeful she had been for this process to go smoothly and without issue, Carol had to go do something she couldn't have predicted in the first place.
Sure, that book had been given to her and Norman as a gag gift. There was no way that book could actually hold some kind of power over a person.
This could prove to be a thorn to her plans. But at the same time, this could serve as a tool to speed up her teachings and propel Carol into being a better wife.
