Naturally, Jon panicked and immediately reached for the stone. Karyn saw this and yelled, "Stop!" It worked; Amber's hand froze a foot from the stone.
"What?" Amber/Jon asked, her face clearly irritated with Karyn's protests.
"You're panicking and not thinking straight. Who knows what will happen if you made the wish now" Karyn said.
"I don't want to be a girl. Are you seriously suggesting that I just let it go and hope this is not permanent?" Amber demanded.
Karyn stared at her friend for a few seconds before she gave an answer. "Yes."
"What?! Of course you would say that. You've always wanted a female best friend" Amber snapped.
"I'm being cautious. If your sister is more interested in taunting you than she is trying to change back, then I'm not surprised to see that bitch, Sarah almost coming into my room. The surprising thing is that she did it with a smile. Don't you think someone like Sarah would be more reluctant to see you and me in cheerleader uniforms? It makes me feel that my wish has some sort of ripple effect and that a wish has unpredictable consequences" Karyn reasoned.
Amber sighed and gave her answer, showing she was clearly unhappy. "Fine. I'll wait. But don't try and stop me when I'm dealing with Mikey or her friend! Those little girls wished us both into being cheerleaders, Karyn. We have to wear those things. Tomorrow"
"You did give Mikey a girlish, stone induced makeover" Karyn said, hoping to calm Amber down.
"Yes, after she gave me one" Amber growled, as she motioned towards her body.
