Jon watched in stunned silence as Tim grew more and more handsome. He even buffed up a bit, looking more like one of the school's athletes than one of his friends.
Tim looked at himself in the mirror and smiled. "This thing really is magic. I could have anything I want."
"There are limitations," Jon pointed out, hoping to lessen his friend's anticipation.
"What kind of limitations?"
"Well, most importantly, you can't reverse wishes."
"Why would I want to?"
"You'd be surprised. Karyn made a few wishes that she'd rather take back."
"Yeah? Like what?"
"She wished that she had blond hair and large breasts."
"But ... she's always had blond hair and large breasts."
"Anyone who doesn't hear the wish thinks that any changes are normal," Jon explained.
"Oh. So now everyone thinks that ..."
"Sarah is your girlfriend," Jon finished his sentence. "And as far as anyone knows, you've probably been dating for a while."
"Oh. Well, that's what I wanted anyway."
"Can I have my stone back?" Jon asked bluntly.
Tim wasn't sure. He still wanted to use it.
