Jon has always heard women live longer than men. He always assumed that more women at higher age brackets was due to life span differences, maybe due to hormones affecting health or men being more reckless. Instead Jon learned that explanation is how reality normalizes the truth.
The truth is their is an imbalance in the magic that leads to more men getting turned into women than the opposite. The older you live the more the slight chances of being changed add up. What is small chance over a short period adds up to an almost certain chance over a lifetime.
