Jon answered the phone. "Hello?"
"Hey, Jana. I was thinking of heading to the club tonight. You wanna come?" Jon's name in this new reality must have been Jana. At least they were similar. It was easier to remember that way.
"Uh, sure," Jana answered. Maybe she could use this opportunity to find out about the hackers. "What about Karyn?" she asked.
"I was about to call her," Zelda said.
"She's here with me."
"Oh. Well, could you tell her? Thanks. I'll see ya there in an hour."
"Uh, okay," Jana said.
"Who was it?" Karyn asked.
"It was Zelda. I guess she definitely thinks we're her friends, because she just invited us to go to the club tonight."
"What club?"
"Uh ... I didn't ask."
"Jon," Karyn groaned.
"Actually, my name is apparently Jana now. And, Karyn, if I asked which club, she might think something was wrong."
"So, you're still going ahead with this? Jon ... Jana, just try to find a way to get us back to normal."
"I don't think I can. And as long as we're like this, we might as well use it to our advantage."
Karyn slumped a bit. "Fine," she said, giving in. But the moment we find out what the hackers are up to, I'm gonna try to get myself back to normal, with or without the stone."
"Okay," Jana said, nodding. "I wish to know which club Zelda was talking about." The stone glowed and she had her answer.
