Karyn stopped her wish in shock as Mikey touched his ring to the wishing stone. Her wish kept him from touching people, but he could still touch objects and make them belong to him.
Something was wrong. The ring and stone were both glowing a bright blue, and the room around them suddenly began shaking. It occured to Karyn that two powerful artifacts like this were not meant to interact. It would have been nice if Jon's grandfather had mentioned that in his letter, or perhaps not sent two powerful objects to the same household. Mikey, for his part, was starting to panic and could not pull the ring away from the stone. Jon looked on in dismay, mostly because Mikey looked paniced.
The light exploded out of the two artifacts, washing the area in bright blue light.
