"It's my mom," Jon said, sounding astonished.
"What about her?" Karyn asked.
"She's having an affair," Jon said, his astonishment being replaced by grief.
"Oh, Jon. I'm so sorry. I ... I didn't know."
"Well, up until a minute ago, I didn't know either." He stood up and paced back and forth. "How could she do this?" he asked, a little angrily. "I thought my mom and dad were happy together."
"Everyone keeps secrets, Jon. Maybe your mom just didn't want you to think anything was wrong."
"That's not the problem, Karyn. The problem is that she's having the affair ... and who she's having it with."
"Who is she having it with?" Karyn asked.
"According to what the stone told me, she's having an affair with ..."
