(Just a reminder: Jon doesn't have the stone yet ... even though Wehtam didn't say anything about it in his first episode.)
Jon ran the short distance to the only entrance to the hospital that his mom knew of. Zoe was also there. Their mom (Linda) got there within a few seconds of them.
"Is he alright?" Zoe asked.
"It doesn't look good," their mom said.
"He's not ... dying, is he?" Jon asked.
"I'm sorry, Jon. But your grandfather is old. The doctor says he doesn't have much time. We should make our goodbyes now, before ..."
"No, this can't be happening," Jon said. "He was fine. I just saw him a few days ago."
Jon's mother put her arm around him. "Things like this just happen," she said, trying to calm him down. But it didn't work. He shrugged away from her and ran to his grandfather's hospital room.
