Jon checked his pocket and found a wallet. Inside was an ID with the name Jon Reynolds.
"Reynolds? As in Mr. Reynolds? The high school history teacher?"
No wonder he looked older. Mr. Reynolds was at least forty-five years old, meaning Jon was now probably the same. And he even wore similar clothes. On the dresser, he saw a pamphlet for a fishing retreat. Presumably, that's what he was going to be doing for spring break.
"Fishing? I think I'll pass," Jon said, noticing how much more mature his voice sounded.
He put the wallet back in his pocket and grabbed his cellphone. Something was bothering him ever since he made his wish. If he had taken Mr. Reynolds' place, did that mean that Mr. Reynolds took his? He had to call his house, just to make sure.
As he called, he grabbed the stone out of his pocket. Well, he would have, if it were there. His eyes went wide. Where was the stone? Did he drop it somewhere? Then an even worse feeling came over him. Did he not even have it in this reality? Why would his grandfather even give the stone to a complete stranger?
"Hello?" someone asked on the phone.
