Jon sat back on his bed, tossing the stone back and forth between his hands, thinking about what to wish for. He had just gotten the stone the previous day, so he hadn't had a lot of opportunities to use it. But now since it was spring break, he had all the time in the world.
His cellphone rang, breaking him out of his thoughts. It was Karyn.
"Karyn? Did you already leave on your trip?" Jon asked.
"Listen to me. You're not Jon. You're Karyn," Karyn said.
Jon laughed. "What is this? Some new game you thought up?"
"Listen to me! I accidentally used the stone and ..."
Jon sat up and became a little more serious. "How do you know about the stone? I didn't tell you about it. I was gonna wait until you came back from your trip."
"I know about the stone, because I'm Jon. I accidentally swapped our minds. The only reason you don't remember who you really are is that you didn't hear the wish."
Jon looked down at the stone. What Karyn was saying could be true. But ... he knew that he was Jon. He had memories to back it up. It was difficult to believe that he could actually be Karyn, let alone a girl.
"Are you still there?" Karyn asked.
"Yeah," Jon answered. "How do we fix this?"
"I had an idea about that," Karyn said. "How about making a wish to ..."
