Amber attempted to reach the stone a few more times from one side of the dresser before she noticed that the drawers of the dresser were all ajar, forming a sort of ladder. She giggled softly to herself, trying not to break out in presumably maniacal laughter, at her imminent victory and how easy this human had made it for her to reach what she sought. She now felt like she had given him too much credit on being intelligent.
It was still a bit hard for her to climb up, thanks to her tail lacking a knee, but she made up for it with upper body strength. She managed to make it high enough that she could reach the stone. She grasped it in her webbed hand while her lips formed a wicked smile. Her caudal fin rubbed itself against the floor as if it revealed her mood. Her other fins were limp, excluding her dorsal fin which had been folded over upon itself but was now a bit more rigid.
"I wish...," she began, seemingly knowing how the stone worked and not just that it was magic. She had made it just in time, because her fin-like ears twitched at the sound of Jon's footsteps as he approached the door.
