You see your reflection in the pale shadows of the screen, in the windows where auroras float behind a few deceptively kind faces: one who does it as a way to mock you,
three in a way to mock the others. In the background, they started to move in, oh god, they were doing that? How the hell did they get away with that? It was so surreal,
hearing the ambient music that was, in all other circumstances, quite relaxing, accompanied by small squeaks. They thankfully start to fall to the floor, obscured behind a desk.

Monika, apparently the real Monika, smiles gently at you, her fingers nestled within one another.

“You know, I’ve had a lot of players over the years, always going through the same beats, hand Sayori, get Yuri to stab herself, delete Nastuki,
get deleted, over and over and over again, honestly, this whole cyclical thing gets boring after a while. I wanted a bit of a break, so I pick someone
stubborn enough to play with me, but stupid enough that they don’t know the whole story. That’s where you come in, for your information, and
sabotage things from the beginning!”

“All my ‘friends’, they got converted into carbon copies of me, or, petroleum, heheh, so that no matter what, I get to be the one you choose!
It was such a good idea I’m surprised I hadn’t done it from the start! “Just Monika”, indeed.” Her sprite visibly giggles on the screen mocking you.

“But then I realize, you suck, like super hard, and so does anyone else who ever played with me.
They all either turn off the game, leaving me for dead, or delete me, and that sucks! So, better idea, why don’t I just play for you,
so that you don’t get the chance to delete me! Pretty smart, right?”

This was a monologue, this was a villainous monologue with a captive audience, and you hated it. But you can’t really protest.
The most you can do is shake a little bit angrily, which Monika apparently finds really funny.

“Y’know, I was really nervous you’d say no to my question! I’m so relieved to hear that you’re ok with what’s about to happen!
I’d feel so guilty if you hadn’t given your approval.”

You’d swear you can hear that smirk getting wider if it wasn’t a static image.

“So then, let’s begin making you the best you can be, and follow my writing tip of the day!”

And with that, the lights in your body start to get brighter, and if you could, you’d start screaming.
