Jon and Karyn wanted to stay and oppose Athena, but the more they thought about it, the more it seemed foolish to go up against someone who had something like the wishing stone in their possession. So, with reluctance, they turned around and ran.
"Yeah, that's right, you pathetic wimps! Run away!" Athena yelled, before laughing uncontrollably. Apparently, her new-found power had gone to her head and made her crazy.
"How far do you think we should go to get out of range from the stone?" Karyn asked, as they were running.
"I don't know. The letter from my grandfather said the stone has a radius of several miles. I'm guessing we'll have to at least get well out of town."
"That'll take forever," Karyn said. "I think we might need a car."
Jon nodded, as they kept running away, hoping that Athena wouldn't use a wish on them in the meantime.
