Suddenly, a thought occurred to Jane and she looked up at Athena. "What about Zoe? Does Zoe know that I'm a witch?"
"Of course," Athena replied. "And so does Jon."
"Jon? You mean he still exists?" When reality changed, she feared that Jon may have been lost to her.
"Of course he exists."
Jane turned her head and looked off to her right. "Do we get along?" Jane always had a good relationship with her son, unlike with her daughter. She and Zoe never really saw eye to eye, but she supposed that that was different now.
"Well enough," Athena said. It wasn't the answer that Jane was looking for. "Listen, Jane. When Linda came over, something occurred to me."
She looked back at Athena. "What?"
"Well, one of the other two members of our coven - her name is Scarlet - well, she's an expert in making potions and she dresses very similar to how Linda was dressed."
"What are you saying? The talisman replaced this Scarlet woman with Linda?"
"It seems that way."
"Then ... what about Megan?"
"Well, if the same thing happened to her, then she replaced Rachel."
"And what's she like?"
"She's a tarot reader."
"Tarot?" Jane didn't know what that was.
"She's a fortuneteller."
Jane gazed off to her right again. Linda was a potion-maker and Megan was a fortuneteller? It was like some kind of nightmare she couldn't wake up from. "What about me?" She almost didn't want to know.
"Your specialty is casting spells," Athena said, smiling. "That's why I came to you first. I thought you might have something that could help me out."
"Help you out with what?" Jane asked.
