Later that evening, Stacy decided she couldn't wait any longer. She had to know how Zoe and her witchy friend did what they did. It wouldn't be easy to get at Zoe, however. It was common knowledge that the Goth crowd hated Stacy, which she found hard to believe. Who wouldn't just love her? She's only one of the most popular people at school. So, she thought up some other way of getting in.
She put on her most frumpy and serious student dress and went across the street to Zoe's house and rang the bell.
Zoe opened the door, expecting Athena or maybe her other friend Zelda. She did not expect Stacy.
"What do you want, Stacy?"
She pouted. "I am really worried. Mr. Howard has that nasty literature test tomorrow and I just am not ready for it! I need your help!"
Zoe sighed. "Why don't you ask one of your boy toys to help?"
"I know how much you like reading." That was true, Zoe did like to read. More poetry than books, though. "I thought you'd be the perfect person to help me. Please help me, please!"
Zoe was beginning to get a headache and Stacy's whining was not helping. She figured she had to help or she would never get any peace. "Fine. Come on up to my room."
They went up the stairs and into Zoe's room. This place is disgusting, Stacy thought, looking around the Goth girl's bedroom. She did take note, however, that Zoe quickly stashed something under her pillow ...
"Could you get me a drink, Zoe?"
"I thought we were here to study?" she shot back.
"I would get it myself, but I don't know where you keep them."
"Fine," she muttered, as she went downstairs.
"Now's my chance," Stacy giggled. She lifted the pillow and found a small seven-sided talisman underneath. This must be it!
"I just need to test it ..." she muttered to herself. "I wish my fingernails were painted pink instead of red."
They changed color right before her eyes.
She smiled. "Now for some real fun."
