Linda woke with a groan, sleeping in Zoe's small twin bed the last couple of days was doing a number on her back, when she heard a sharp knocking on the door.
"Rise and shine, dear!" Jon called in a sing-song voice. Linda moaned and rolled over, pulling her pillow over head. How was Jon so awake and alert this early in the morning. (The fact that a week ago, she had been a morning person while Jon liked to sleep all day escaped her mind.) Finally, with a harumph, she sat up and began getting ready for work. That was anther annoying thing, she grumbled internally, as she pulled on a pair of Jon's jeans. She HATED her new wardrobe, that was to say Jon's old clothes. She felt a bit ridiculous wearing the clothes of a teenage boy, none of them fit properly, and to top it off the fabrics tended to be scratchy and uncomfortable compared to her old clothes. Still, they were what she was stuck with for the moment since she had agreed to trade with Jon, and as Ms. Fine said, she needed to commit to her agreements.
So it was that she stumbled down into the kitchen, wearing one of Jon's Guns and Roses cotton tees stretched out over her breasts. Jon and Zoe were already down there, of course. Zoe was sipping coffee and reading the paper at the table, while Jon busied himself making bacon and eggs. Linda shot Jon a jealous look as he served her a plate of breakfast; Jon was wearing one of her favorite outfits, a long sleeve v neck cream colored silk bouse, tight high rise jeans and some chunky 3 inch beige heels. It all hung off of him a bit, but he moved perfectly naturally in it.
"Admiring my outfit, honey?" Jon asked as he took the seat across from her. Linda bit back a retort and instead ground out, "Yes it looks very nice."
Jon hummed in acknowledgement while he buttered his toast, before tapping his chin in thought. "Y'know, I've been thinking a bit about our wardrobes actually..."
"You want to switch back?" Linda asked excitedly, she couldn't wait to get her clothes back. Jon laughed and waved her off, "Oh heavens no! I'm loving this new style." It was true, he'd been feeling so empowered, so adult the last week. She continued, smiling a bit condescendingly at Linda. "What I was actually thinking was, since these are my clothes now, I should probably have the jewellery and accessories to match them."
"What!?" Linda squawked. Besides her makeup, those were the only things of her own she still got to wear. "Nuh-uh, never!"
Jon pouted down at her, "I don't appreciate this attitude, Mom."
"But-" Linda began
"Listen to your Jon, Mother." Zoe said absently as she flipped through the paper. Further protest died in Linda's throat. A part of her knew she shouldn't have to obey, but Ms. Fine had been stressing that she should listen to Zoe and Jon to help the family. So it was that she glumly removed her dangly sapphire earrings, ring set, and golden pendant necklace, before handing them over to Jon. Jon beamed at them, "Wonderful, I'll go get my ears pierced for these after Ms. Fine comes by this afternoon, thank you for being reasonable."
