Jon unfolded the piece of paper to read the letter:
Dear Jon,
If you have gotten this letter, then it must be your birthday. Contained in this box is a magical stone. Please treat it with care. It does not look much, but it has immense power.
I found the stone on my latest expedition to South America and I believe it to be of Incan origin. How it works, or where it came from beyond that, I have no idea. All I can tell you is how it works and trust you to use it wisely.
Bear with me on this next bit. I know it sounds fantastic, but trust me when I tell you that I am telling the truth. All I say is real and it will not take much experimentation for you to prove it.
While holding the stone against your flesh (I recommend just holding it in your hand as the simplest approach), simply make a wish. This stone is similar to the wishing stone...but there is a difference.
You might be surprised, but I became Grand...ma this way, for every wish you take makes everything around it more feminine. Enough wishes will make you a woman... But you won't mind. I didn't!
Could this really be true? Jon decided to test it, but before he could come up with a more composed wish, he realized he hadn't done any laundry.
"I wish all my clothes were clean."
There was that characteristic flash...but when it evaporated, Jon found that the dark green collared shirt and khaki shorts he wore had turned into a mint green blouse and white skirt.
Huh!?
He looked around his bedroom and found that not only were his clothes clean and put away neatly, they could have been Zoe's clothes if she weren't so darn depressing. There were a few boyshorts, several skirts, and all the tops had changed. The underwear drawer had— Oh dear, Jon thought, seeing several bras having joined his underwear drawer, which otherwise consisted of panties.
His head was spinning, and when he saw a photo of himself on the wall that had also changed to reflect his new clothing tastes, he almost fainted.
Yet he couldn't quite part with this new stone—not that he'd realize it rendered the old one powerless in the process.
