Athena Leeson smiled and put a comforting hand on Zelda's shoulder. "Maybe not, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't let it out. I saw the whole thing. A lot of people did."
Zelda sniffles again. "He acted like he barely knew me. He promised to stand up to his mom, that we'd be together no matter what she said. Then the next thing I know he leaves me high and dry." The betrayal still hurt, but it did feel good to let it all out.
"I know you two have been friends forever, and I couldn't see you being apart." Athena started comforting the crying girl again. "From what I could tell though neither you or his mom gave him much chance. He wants both of you in his life, and you know things have been rough because of his dad."
Zelda sighed. Maybe she was being a little selfish, but she wanted to be the one Jon could rely on. She was happy they didn't drift apart when she got involved with the goth lifestyle, but his mom seemed to care more about appearances than anything. "I just want him to be there for me. If only he had a different mom or something."
"I guess, but it's not like you can change something like that." Athena said.
Zelda began thinking though. With the rock she could change anything. If she could get it, she could make things easier for them both.
