"I meant to tell all of you later tonight, but the papers were finalized this morning. The divorce went through with no problems." Sarah said, smiling happily. "We don't have to worry about that no good, worthless, conniving..." She continued, her expression darkening as her anger steadily rose.
She would have continued if Jennifer hadn't spoken up. "Mom calm down. You know Jon and I are just as happy he can't hurt any of us anymore. I'm glad I don't have to keep calling him dad. She finished with disgust.
Everything about this new reality confuse Jon. He could see Sarah divorcing his dad, but Jennifer had basically said it was his fault. Obviously Sarah had custody of him and his siblings too. But his dad wasn't a bad guy. What had he done that had his family hating him this much?
"You're right dear. Just thinking of that man and having to deal with Zelda Black has gotten me flustered. Everything is finally on track and we can all be happy now that they are out of the way. Lets just get Mikey, and we can go to the movies and have a nice dinner afterwards." Sarah was still upset, but had calmed down considerably.
Jon continued following, wishing he had the stone or something that could explain or fix everything.
Zoe overheard the conversation and a plan formed in her mind. 'If I can get Jon's mom to like me, maybe I can get invited to that dinner and convince Jon we are perfect for each other. Between losing his dad and Zelda it will be easy to pick up the pieces and make him mine.'
