"Cheerleader." Jon read out loud, and the card disappeared. And in an instant, Jon felt a wave of dizzyness come over him, but it quickly subsided.
"That was like, really weird." Jon said. He then looked down at himself, seeing that his body hadn't changed, but his clothes had. He now wore what was unmistakably the cheerleading uniform from his school, and the girls one at that. He also noticed that his hair was a bit longer and dyed blonde. But Jon wasn't bothered. In fact, he was happy at the idea of being a cheerleader.
As he examined his changes, he saw his goth sister Zoe coming out of her room. Jon suddenly felt an overwhelming contempt for her, and Zoe looked at him with clear animosity.
"Freak." he called her.
"Fuck you, bitch." she retorted.
"Jon, Zoe, you two better not be fighting again!" their mother said as she walked past down the hall and headed downstairs.
"Ugh, I can't believe I'm related to her." Jon complained as he walked back to his room. Though he took note of what his mother said about him and Zoe fighting. Before the change, he really didn't fight with her. They didn't get along all the time, but they never fought. Of course, he now couldn't understand why he hadn't fought with her. He now couldn't stand her or her freaky friends.
Entering his room, he saw that it was completely redcorated. It looked like what a typical teenage girl's room might look like. His closet was also full of a variety of new clothes, all clearly girls ones, such as dresses and skirts and such. And there were pictures of him hanging out with Sarah and the rest of her friends. The idea of being friends with Sarah and her group, as he was glad he wasn't friends with that loser Karyn now. Just like with Zoe, he now coudn't stand his former best friend. He saw a particular picture which was of just him and Sarah, and had the words BFFs written on it, which made him especially happy that he and Sarah were best friends now.
Apparently being given the personality and role of a cheerleader had caused a ripple effect. His life was now just as one would expect of a girl that would be in this position, even though he was a boy. So any other cards would cause similar changes. And only Jon would be aware of them because only he had heard the wish.
As he thought about what was going on, he was suddenly surprised by the beeping of a car horn. Looking outside, he saw Sarah's car parked outside. He then realized something. Cheerleading practice would be starting soon, and since he was now a cheerleader, he had to be there. He saw a bag with a change of clothes next to what was now his purse, so he grabbed them and hurried out the door.
And he had been in such a rush that he hadn't noticed that he had knocked the rock right into the waste bin.
