After dinner Roger started to clean up the plates, he asked Zoe if she could stay and help. Zoe agreed while Mikey went off to his room and Linda went into the living room. Jon decided to go spend some time with his mom. When Jon entered the living room he found his mother sitting in what was his father's favourite spot with her legs spread out wide. "Jon, my boy!" His mother said as she saw him enter. "Coming to spend a bit of time with your mother?" She asked. Jon nodded, Linda smiled and then patted the seat next to her indicating where he should sit. She put the TV on and found a local sports highlights show. Meanwhile Roger and Zoe had just finished cleaning up in the kitchen. "Thanks for your help sweetie" Roger said to his daughter smiling. "No problem dad" Zoe replied. "Now you go and get the things we need and I'll meet you in the bathroom" Roger told his daughter. Zoe nodded and then went upstairs. Roger entered the hall and checked his appearance in the mirror, brushing his hair a little as he did. Satisfied with the result he poked his head into the living room. "Do you two need anything?" He asked. Jon shook his head but Linda replied "I'll have a beer thanks honey." Roger nodded and then went back into the kitchen and brought out a beer for his wife.
Roger handed Linda the beer who thanked him and then as he turned around Linda slapped her husband on the behind causing Roger to giggle and surprising Jon. Smiling, Roger left the room and headed upstairs. As Roger headed to the bathroom he poked his head around Mikey's bedroom who was busy playing with his action figures. "Sweetie" he said softly "Do you have any homework?" Mikey groaned "Yes, but dad. I can do it later before bed. It won't take long." Roger stepped in to the room and folded his arms across his chest like Linda did "I think you should do it now sweetie" he said sternly giving his soon a look. "But dad!" Mikey whined. "Now young man!" Roger said crossly. "You can play with your toys later." Mikey groaned but got up off the floor and started doing his homework.
"Thank you honey." Roger said smiling as he left the room. He entered the bathroom where he found his daughter waiting for him. "Sorry about the wait honey" He said "Now, let's get started"
