Linda Madison was sitting at her vanity, carefully applying her mascara, while her husband Roger was focused on tying his tie. They were both getting ready for work. Linda worked as an assistant to an attorney downtown, while Roger was an accountant uptown. They only really saw each other in the morning before work, or in the evenings - and Roger had a habit of working late.
"I can't wait for Friday, dear," Linda said as she removed the curlers from her hair. She was wearing a stylish suit, with slacks and a blazer, and a silk blouse.
"I know, honey," Roger said. "I've made reservations at Cafe Rouge for seven." Friday was their anniversary. Roger thought back to their wedding day: how beautiful Linda had looked in her dress, how drunk his best man Dave had gotten, the smell of his bouquet... wait. Was that right?
Linda caught the look of confusion on his face. "What's wrong honey?" she asked.
"Nothing. Just thinking of our wedding," Linda's face lit up a bit. "Do you remember the bouquet?" he asked.
"Sort of," she said, "but you were the one who picked out the flowers, remember?"
Of course, Roger remembered. He just had to have white roses. He wondered why he'd been so confused. He finished getting ready with a spritz of perfume and went downstairs with his wife to get some coffee.
Jon was up early, hoping to see what kind of changes happened on the first day. He frowned as his mom and dad walked into the kitchen. They looked totally normal. But his nose told a different story. His dad smelled like his mom. And when his mom walked by, he smelled his dad's deodorant. Jon thought that was an odd first thing to switch, but smiled at the fact that his wish was working.
