"What's wrong, honey?" Roger asked his daughter Karyn, as she entered the house.
"I don't know. I can't seem to find Jon. I stopped by his house, but he wasn't there. I tried calling his cellphone, but it keeps going to voicemail."
"Well, I'm sure he'll turn up," Roger said.
Karyn headed to her room, thinking that he better. She was hoping to use the wishing stone some more. Jon had the stone, so without Jon, she couldn't do any wishing. And besides that, she was worried about him. He had never been so out of touch with her before. She even feared that something might have happened to him. Even something wish-related. But without the stone, she couldn't know for sure.
"By the way," her father said, from behind her. "Your mother and I are going out to dinner tonight. So, you'll have the house to yourself for a while. No wild parties, okay?" he said, jokingly.
"Sure, Dad," Karyn said, before entering her bedroom and trying to call Jon one more time.
