The stone glowed, causing her to look away, and when the light dissipated, Karyn saw a girl sitting in Jon's chair that resembled Jon quite a bit.
"Oh my god! Jon, what happened to you?" Karyn asked, startled by what the stone had done to her friend.
"It's for the best, Karyn," the girl said, leaning back in the chair.
"Jon, you're a girl. Doesn't that bother you?"
"Not really."
Karyn was puzzled by Jon's reaction. He heard the wish, so he should have a problem with it. Unless, of course, he wanted to be a girl in the first place. But even then, he wouldn't take it in stride.
But then she remembered the stupid wish she made before her girl friend wish. The one that forced Jon to not worry and completely trust her. That wish was making him feel fine about what just happened to him!
"I have to undo this," Karyn said.
"If you think that's best," said Jon. "Do whatever you want, Karyn. I trust you."
Karyn felt like the biggest jerk. Yes, she loved the fact that she had full use of the stone, but she didn't want to have it at the expense of her best friend. He didn't seem to care what happened to him. She could turn him into a dog or a talking tree and he wouldn't care.
