The stone glowed, causing her to look away, and when the light dissipated, Karyn saw a girl standing next to Jon. She remembered seeing her at school. Her name was Julie Stevens, a Sophomore girl with long blond hair and a fit body who was a member of the student council and other organizations. Karyn wasn't involved with those sorts of things, though, so she didn't know Julie very well.
"See?" Jon said, still leaning back in his chair. "I told you I could trust you."
Julie walked over and sat down next to Karyn. "Okay, now it's my turn," she said, grabbing the stone from her.
"Wait a minute," Karyn said, startled that the product of her wish was now going to use the stone.
But Julie didn't wait. "I wish ..."
