...Nothing had changed. Karyn was still sprawled in the couch next to him with her legs cocked way out to the side as she tossed a ball up and down. Susan was still taking off her coat and greeting her best friend Sally. Jon was annoyed. He was used to his plans working out. He tapped his high-heeled foot impatiently and wondered why he'd invited her. He would much rather have some eligible (rich) bachelor as his guest. He suddenly wondered why he was sitting with Karyn. She wasn't going to help him get a man; for that he needed to take advantage of his assets...
Jon suddenly paused. What was that? That wasn't how he normally thought... was it? Jon looked around again. Mark and Linda (somehow calling them Mom and Dad didn't feel right anymore) were fighting as usual. The pink skirted bitchy Mark throwing a small tantrum and pouting to get the even tempered, strong Linda to do what he wanted. Jon knew that Mark would shift into seduction mode if that didn't work. "Isn't that how Sarah and Uncle Dwayne usually are?" Jon asked himself. Looking around, Jon realized what had happened to everybody else. Mark and Linda were behaving like Sarah and Dwayne; Gary and Sharon like Sharon and Mikey; Dwayne and Liz like Sally and Zoe; Susan like Karyn; Karyn and Jon like Biff and Susan; Sarah and Biff like Athena and Liz, Zoe and Athena like Linda and Mark; and Mikey and Sally like Gary and Jon. Jon hadn't meant to include himself. Jon reflected on how strange things were though; things like a pregnant Liz smoking, Sharon sitting on the floor playing with G. I. Joes, and Zoe and Athena cuddling like husband and wife. "Strange..." Jon said. "I wonder what this will be like."
