Jen felt so happy but part of her mind was still fighting Martin's charm. Enough that she spotted something out of the corner of her eye. The stone! It was sitting just underneath the bed. She could grab it if she was quick enough. There was just one problem. Martin's hand cupping her chin felt so lovely.
She loved him so much. It was hard to think of much more than that. Except she was supposed to be a boy named Jon. And Jon was straight and would never marry a man. Jon would be horrified by this situation. But Martin was so nice. Maybe Jon would like him?
No!
Jen shoved Martin away from her with as much strength as she could muster and dived under the bed for the stone.
"What are you doing!"
Jen grabbed the stone and kicked back at Martin's hands as he tried to grab her feet. She crawled to the other side until she was out from under the bed and the bed separated her and Martin.
"Don't do it!?" Martin yelled. Do what. She had no idea what she was going to do. Except she couldn't hurt Martin. But she could avoid marrying him.
"I wish I wasn't marrying..." Jen's voice trailed off as she looked into Martin's handsome amber eyes.
"You're marrying me!" Martin called and Jen felt her mind soften. She was marrying Martin. She loved him. But she couldn't help but latch onto one last bit of Jon. Jon wasn't they type of person who would marry Martin. He would never marry a...
"...a man." Jen finished a little dazed. The stone flashed, and horror crossed Martin's face as reality rewove itself around them.
