Trevor Blake waited at the mall for his friends Tim Brant and Pete Roberts to show up. Tim and Pete used to be friends with Karyn and Jon. But since Jon and Trevor switched personalities and Karyn became a Goth, Trevor was now their friend. But, of course, since none of them heard any of the wishes, the three of them all thought everything was normal.
When Tim and Pete arrived, all three went to The Doggie Stand and ordered up some corndogs. As they sat in the food court eating their food, they saw Zoe Gibson and her friends walk by.
"Look out," Trevor said, plainly. "Here comes the bitch squad."
The girls made no eye contact with Trevor and his friends. They were all in their own world. And they wouldn't associate with people like Trevor, Tim, or Pete, who they labeled as losers, just because they weren't as popular as them. It's exactly how Sarah McMillan treated Jon and Karyn back in the original reality.
They watched as they walked into a nearby store, shopping bags in hand, and giggling all the way.
"Apparently, a prerequisite for being popular is being a total ditz," Tim said.
Trevor and Pete smiled.
"I'm surprised that she's that popular, though," Pete said. "Isn't her brother a Goth?"
Trevor shivered. He didn't hate the Goths, like all the preps and jocks did, but they still gave him the creeps. He could never see himself being that way. But, he wondered, which was worse? Being a Goth boy or having a bitch for a sister?
