As Tiffany looked through one of her witchcraft books, a flashing light caught her eye. She looked in that direction and saw a small glass ball that was glowing, although the light seemed to be dimming. She picked it up, wondering what it was and why it was glowing. She had never seen it do that before.
"I don't suppose you know what this is. Do you?" she asked Zach.
"No, Mistress."
She shrugged her shoulders, then put the glass ball back on the shelf. Little did she know, that glass ball was a magic detector. Whenever magic was being used by someone other than her, the ball glowed. And in this case, it was Jon using magic to swap four jocks with four geeks, in the same way he swapped the cheerleaders with the Goth girls.
Tiffany picked the book back up and continued to look through it. Occasionally, she tested out a spell on Zach. And he was more than happy to be her test subject.
Sarah and Amber opened the thick black door to The Occult Stop and walked in. They saw shelves lined with old tomes, skulls, demonic jewelry, and CDs of heavy metal music. In the back of the room, they saw a door labeled "fashion". That must have been where they sold clothes. Goth clothes.
"Sarah," a voice said. It was a guy's voice. A 20-something pale-skinned Goth boy walked towards her. He had long black hair that partially hid his face, a spiked collar, a fishnet shirt, a long black vinyl skirt, and black boots. A few days before, Sarah would have been unbelievably disgusted just looking at this ... person. But now, she felt differently. She didn't know why, but she kind of liked how he looked. The vinyl skirt didn't even bother her.
"Chad?" she asked.
"Where have you been? I haven't seen you for days," he said, before leaning in and kissing her.
And I've never seen you, she thought.
"I'm gonna look around," Amber said, before walking off.
"I ... I've been busy."
"Yeah, I heard about that little stunt you pulled yesterday. What possessed you to do something like that?"
"Can we talk about something else?" she asked.
"Sure, yeah. Okay." He looked back over his shoulder, then back at Sarah. "You know, your item came in. Just yesterday. I was gonna call you."
"My item?" she asked.
"Yeah, the one you ordered? This one took a while to get. But since it's for you, I made the extra effort."
They walked over to the cashier's area and Chad set a box down on the counter. "I didn't open it."
"Okay." She picked it up. It wasn't very heavy. She wondered what it was.
"Are we still going to Trevor's party together?" Chad asked.
It took Sarah a moment to figure out what he was talking about, but then she remembered back on Tuesday when Trevor told her that he was having a party on Friday. That was the next day!
"Sure."
He smiled. It was strange seeing a man with black lipstick. "Then I look forward to it."
But did Sarah?
