Dressed in a string bikini, Zoe walked along the pool and lied down on one of the pool chairs. She looked up at the cloudless sky and smiled as the sun warmed her skin.
Her attention was diverted, however, when she saw two bikini-clad girls walking down the steps towards the pool area. And when they got closer, she saw that they were Sabrina and Stephanie.
"Hey, Zoe," Sabrina said, smiling. "It's a great day, isn't it?"
Zoe sat up from the pool chair. "Sabrina, are you feeling okay?"
"Oh, yeah. I feel great." She was acting very un-Sabrina-like.
"Stephanie?" Zoe asked. "Where did you get that bikini?"
"I bought it at the store. Don't you just love it?"
"It's pink. You hate pink."
"What are you talking about? I love pink."
"Yeah, so do I," Sabrina said.
"What's wrong with you?" Zoe asked.
"Nothing. I just finally accepted who I am. You were right. Everything would just work out if we just gave in."
"And I am so glad I did," Stephanie said. "I never want to be a Goth again."
Suddenly, a hand wrapped around each of their bare waists and a face appeared between them. It was Steve Farber.
"I was wondering where you two went off to."
Both girls giggled.
"Come on, let's go have some fun," he said, then escorted them away.
When they moved out of the way, Zoe's view of the pool area, the house, and everything around it could be clearly seen. And just behind the privacy fence, Zoe saw a figure. It was Sarah McMillan. Pale face, draped in black. She was still a Goth. Her head was turned at an angle towards the ground, but her eyes were focused right on Zoe. Those eyes, so filled with rage, a cold rage. Or was it something else? What seemed like minutes, they stared at each other. Sarah didn't move an inch.
Then she smirked.
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP ...
Zoe's eyes flew open. Her alarm clock was going off, so she hit "snooze". She just had the most vivid dream, only some of which she could remember. Something about going to a beach house with Biff Meadows, and a pool, and ...
As she recalled the dream, she remembered seeing her friends Sabrina and Stephanie, acting like a couple of sorority girls. Totally unlike them. And then she remembered Sarah, all dressed in black, spying on her from behind the fence.
As was stated earlier, Zoe was a firm believer in psychic ability, but she was also a firm believer in premonitions. Could it be that her dream was a premonition? Could that be what the future holds? Of course, it also could have been just a dream. But Zoe couldn't help but think that it could happen. If they didn't find who was responsible for the switch, then they couldn't fix their situation. Just like in the dream, they'd be stuck this way for the rest of their lives. She remembered how she felt in the dream and how her friends acted. She didn't want that. She wanted her old life back. She didn't want to turn into a beach bimbo. And she didn't want her friends to either.
