"Sarah, wait," Zoe said, catching up with her and her friends at the edge of the school grounds.
They turned around to see Zoe approaching them.
"What?" Sarah asked.
"I told Allison that today was a dare. If anyone asks." Zoe stood there a little longer.
"Did you want something else?" Sarah asked.
Zoe pulled Sarah behind the treeline and Sarah's friends followed. "I can't believe I'm actually asking this, but I need some pointers about cheerleading. Allison got really pissed at us yesterday and ..."
"Yeah. She definitely has anger issues," Sarah said.
"So could you help me out?"
Sarah was a little hesitant (was she actually going to help this Goth girl?), but she did finally agree.
"Where is Zoe?" Allison asked, impatiently.
"She's coming," Zelda said.
"I've about had it with her. She's supposed to be the head cheerleader, but she's always late."
"There she is," Erika said, pointing to a girl who was running out to them.
"Finally."
When Zoe arrived, she apologized for her tardiness. Allison was still mad, but her anger was slowly fading.
After their practice was over, Allison marked on how much they improved. Not much, but she said that she was happy that they at least remembered their cheers this time.
"You know those pointers I gave you?" Zoe asked her friends. "Those came from Sarah. I know you don't like her. Hell, I don't even really like her that much, but you should thank her for it. I don't even want to think what Allison might have done if Sarah didn't at least tell me the team's cheer. Sarah and her friends are waiting at their houses for us to come by and exchange outfits. They promised to give us more pointers about how to be better cheerleaders and how to live like them."
Sabrina let out a groan.
"But we should give them pointers on living as Goths. I know they won't like it, but if we're gonna pull this thing off, then they have to be as authentic as possible."
"What are you girls talking about?" Erika asked, walking towards them.
Zoe looked over at the cheerleader. "Nothing." Then they left the school.
