When Sarah got back to her bedroom, she collapsed on her bed. She was exhausted. The outfit that she got from Zoe's closet was already laying on her bed. She couldn't wait to put it on and get back to some form of normalcy. Lying on her bed, she looked around the room. How could someone live here? It was like a tomb.

There was a knock on her door.

She sat up and yelled "What?"

"Dinner's ready." It was her younger sister Melony. She always treasured Sarah. Of course, everyone did. She was the most popular girl at school. (Sarah cringed at the word 'was'.) But what did her sister think if her now?

She walked downstairs and saw her sister, her dad, and her mom. They were already eating.

"You started without me?" They always waited.

Her dad looked up at her, annoyed. "Maybe you if you came to dinner on time ..."

She sat down at the table and looked down at her plate. "Steak? Can't I have a salad instead?"

"Since when do you eat salads?" her mom asked.

Sarah looked down at her plate again. She never ate greasy food like this. She always tried to watch her figure.

"Just eat your steak," her dad said, still sounding annoyed.

Sarah didn't want to fuss about it, she just wanted to eat and get out of there. The least amount of interaction with her family was preferable. And eating one steak wouldn't kill her.

After dinner, she left the table and went back to her room.

"Don't think about going out with your friends," her dad said, as she walked away.

She didn't have any intention of it.
