Thinking about whom to invite first Jon was about to walk back into his room...
except the door wouldn't open. Puzzled he tried again, but as hard as he pushed it wouldn't budge even an inch. Jon didn't understand. Was there a problem with his original wish? From his perspective more than a day had passed so at first he had some difficulties recalling the exact wording, but then he remembered: He had wished for time to stop outside when he was in the room and the door shut, but time would only restart when he was outside and the door closed behind him. Of course! There was simply no time for the air on the other side to move out of the way in, so he couldn't push it away. He might as well have tried to push the door through concrete. In a way he was lucky that the door opened into his room and that the time-frozen air behaved as though it was solid: If he had managed to open the door and step through the door he would have been frozen in time before he could have closed the door, and would have been stuck, forever!
