Jon's experiences from the day before had prepared him for the fact that his day would be very different. Even so, he was shocked at the experience. Buildings were much larger, but with small entrances to accomodate smaller people. Sports featured only the giants; Jon was surprised to learn that the high school football team played girls and boys, as the bigger girls were more valuable than the smaller boys. Sarah McMillian was still the most popular girl in school, despite her mere six inches of height. Biff Meadows was still the school's best football player at 10' 7", although his buddies Steve "the stud" Farber and Mike "Moose" Matthews were now only 2' 6" and 3' 1", respectively. The nerdy Stephanie Wright was now the school's top wide receiver and basketball forward at 11' 9". Height seemed to mean very little in the overall social structure; tall people were friends with short people and vice versa. Jon soon realized why; although the larger people were responsible for watching out for the physical well-being of the little people, the smaller individuals were far more dextrous, and often had to help the big people with computers or even simple tasks like tying shoes. After school, Karyn carried Jon home and the two spent the afternoon working on their class project. Karyn had to go home for dinner, and Jon again observed his oddly-sized family enjoying supper; Zoe had to help prepare the meal, and Jon could only chuckle as Zoe put down three whole steaks. Mikey ate two, while Jon, his father, and his mother split one and couldn't even finish it.
Once again that night Jon found himself in the bathroom thinking about what to wish for. The last two days had been a lot fun, but it was on to something new. Thinking about how much fun the day had been to be different sizes, Jon decided to wish for something similar. "I wish that everybody would age at different rates. The average rate would be the same, but some people would age as much as ten times the normal rate, while others age at only about one tenth." Deciding that he didn't want anybody to die, Jon added, "I also wish that nobody alive now will be dead because of this wish and nobody will die tomorrow who wasn't going to die anyway."
