"What do you mean?" Karyn asked her.
"Well, an hour ago I was a guy named Jon Smith, your best friend who wanted to date you. Now I'm your twin sister, Jane. And while that was a lot of fun earlier, it was more than a little confusing."
"What?!?"
"You know the stone that my... err... our grandfather...?" At Karyn's nod, Jane continued, "Left to m..."
"Left to us, actually," Karyn corrected. "He knew that we shared everything, so he couldn't really give it to just one of us."
"Umm... ok, I guess that makes sense. Anyway, you made that wish that gave you... ummm, us, I guess, this chest and hair. And you seemed pretty unhappy about it, so, since we couldn't undo it, I wished for you to be more comfortable with it. Then I had a terrible premonition about that changing your personality, so I called you. And apparently there was something to the premonition, because you were in bed with Steve. And as I'd always wanted to be the one in bed with you, I carelessly wished that it was me. But unfortunately that's about how well the wish was phrased. And I guess the stone couldn't figure out which of you I meant, so it gave me a bit of each of your situations," Jane finished.
"You mean I haven't always had a sister?"
"From my perspective, only for about half an hour. I'm sorry to put you through this," said Jane.
"But I can't bear to not have you with me. We've gotten each other through so much. You really are the other half of me."
Jane answered, "That's really what I've always wanted to be; just not like this."
Karyn reached behind herself, to a shelf over her bed, and grabbed a familiar-looking stone.
