"The choice is obvious..." The creature said to itself. "Jon's sister, Zoe. Her room is next to his in this house, and she attends the same school as him. I'll have numerous opportunities to acquire the stone."
The creature, having made it's decision, floated through the house and to the room of it's target. It hovered over Zoe's bed for a few moments, taking in not only her appearance, but any memories of hers that it could. If it was to pull off this charade, it would need all of the information it could acquire.
When it was satisfied, it entered the girl's body. Much to the creatures surprise,however, it did not instantly take control of her. Instead, it found itself within the girls dreamscape. It looked around, annoyed at the inconvinience.
"You're a bit more resilient than I thought, girl. But this is not the first time that I have taken someone's body to complete my work." it said.
"Wh-what are you?" A voice asked from behind the creature. It turned to see it's intended target, Zoe Gibson. "Why are you here?"
The creature floated toward the girl, chuckling a bit as it did. It always enjoyed the fearsome look upon it's victims faces. "Normally, I would attempt to manipulate you into submitting control to me, but alas, I lack the time and patience to go through that whole song and dance now." it said. It suddenly reached out and grabbed Zoe by the throat. It's hand began to glow dimly as soon as it was touching her. She struggled for a moment, but passed out relatively quickly. The glow around the creatures hand spread to it's whole body, and it released Zoe, allowing her to fall to the ground.
As the glow covered the creature, it's form began to shift. After a moment, it looked exactly like Zoe. The creature grinned, for the first time in hundreds of years. It, or rather she, looked over at her unwilling host. She pointed her finger at Zoe, and a cage appeared around her. The creature then walked away from the unconsious girl.
The sun shone brightly outside, though only a dim light was let through the black curtains of Zoe's room. She began to stir in her bed, and she opened her eyes slowly, only to quickly shut them. "It's been far too long since I've had to deal with the sensations of the human body..." Zoe said. She stood up abruptly from her bed, glancing quickly in the mirror located next to her closet. She grimaced slightly. The sixteen year old girl who stared back from the mirror was far different than the other bodies that the creature had taken in the past. It had always focused on taking strong soldiers. The sensations it was receiving from the female body it inhabited were completely new to it. It wondered for a moment if it had made a mistake choosing the girl, but quickly shook the thoughts from it's head. "This is of no importance, once the stone is mine, I can change this body as I see fit." she said. She then broke into a grin. "And if all goes as planned, I'll have the stone by the end of the day."
